A chartered landscape architect and regeneration professional, working since 2004 as a strategic advisor to the public, voluntary and academic sectors in areas relating to renaissance, design and regeneration. Worked in the Yorkshire and Humber region for over 20 years, with a wide network of contacts, at national, regional and local levels; often contributed to both policy and organisational development at a senior level.

Regional Representative in Yorkshire and Humber for the Commission for Architecture and Built Environment (CABE); CABE Space Enabler; Past Chair of the Accreditation Review Group for the Landscape Institute accredited landscape courses at Leeds Metropolitan University; Part-time tutor and reviewer for post-graduate landscape architecture at LMU; Trustee/Director of 2 Community organisations; past Trustee/Director and recent Interim Executive Director of 'arc' – Architecture and Built Environment Centre in Humber; retained associate for beam; arc and Amelio Consulting.

Previous Roles

Urban Renaissance Manager at Yorkshire Forward - a key role in delivering the innovative and high profile Renaissance Towns pilot and spearheading the regions distinct approach to a Regeneration Centre of Excellence; 5 years at English Partnerships as a Development/Community Investment Manager focussing on South Yorkshire; and 5 years at Castleford based Groundwork Wakefield as a senior manager and landscape architect.

Personal Philosophy

The natural evolution of my career from landscape design to the wider field of regeneration has paralleled my deepening commitment to the people and places that have suffered economic decline and my growing ability to think and act strategically. Engaging communities, enabling organisations and through all, empowering the individual are all at the heart of my expertise and experience.
