An Introduction to Enablers

Transform South Yorkshire Housing Renewal partnership, with one of the largest investment programmes in England, has established a third design panel of talented individuals who are passionate about improving the quality of the built environment.

Panel members work as 'Enablers' providing support to key stakeholders in achieving high quality standards of design for housing and neighbourhoods in the Sub-region Green Corridor areas including the boroughs of Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham, Sheffield and Wakefield.

The panel of highly experienced individual Enablers, with national and international acclaim, offer support for the development of effective and inclusive design processes and strategic policy in all areas affecting the creation for more sustainable, distinctive and successful neighbourhoods. Their expertise will allow them to act as a design champion, making an informed contribution to the project and strategy, giving guidance, training, and research to the industry.

Our third panel members are qualified professionals in the fields of: architecture, urban design, landscape architecture, masterplanning, project management, cost control, structural or environmental engineering, quantity surveyors, transport planning; Or people who have been involved in excellent projects by applying their skills in the following areas: accessibility, diversity and social inclusion, regeneration, public realm funding, maintenance, sustainability, ecology, and biodiversity, CSH and sustainable energy, experience of working with public and private sector clients.
